“Intraoperative Multi-Sensory Tissue Identification in Oncology”
Project B3: Multi-modal data driven sensor fusion
to be filled by April 1, 2023 for a contract period of 3 years
During surgical interventions, reliable identification of malignant target structures and surrounding tissue is essential to minimize the treatment's invasiveness, morbidity, and duration while maximizing effectiveness.
As part of the RTG2543, project B2 focuses on intraoperative tissue classification. The aim is to develop new machine learning methods for heterogeneous, multimodal medical data, measured at individual points, as 2D gigapixel images, or as 3D volumes. By fusing the information from different data modalities, the approach aims at supporting tissue classification before, during, and after the surgery.
The position is available immediately. It is limited to three years.
